Organized field visit to Roma settlement in Pljevlja

In order to resolve legal status and problems with identification document of Roma situated in Pljevlja, representative of NGO Young Roma participated in two day field visit to settlement Trlica, which was organized on 22-23.06.2017.


On that occasion she took part in a field visit together with mobile team of Ministry of Interior Affairs Kosovo and UNHCR, aimed at continuation of work on resolving legal status for inhabitants of settlement. Namely, field visit resulted with positive outcome for four persons, who resolved the documents and will receive the passports in the upcoming period. Additionally with certain number of persons were conducted interviews, which will serve to plan further stems on resolve of status.

On the second day of the field visit, in organization of NGO Young Roma, meetings with representatives of Ministry of interior affairs Pljevlja and Red cross Pljevlja, were held. Aim of mentioned meetings was detailed analysis of needs of Roma situated in Trlica, as well as agreement on further actions, needed to resolve their legal status. Through the insight in documentation, a list of persons who need assistance was created. Coordinated work of all mentioned actors and NGO Young Roma will be continued with the aim to provide legal status resolved for Roma inhabited in Trlica.

First exhibition Dorra Nuova

On the 22nd June the project team organized the first solo exhibition to kick start of the summer season at the attractive location of the workshop Dorra Nuova  in the center of Herceg Novi.  The project team has been given a permission to exhibit out products in-front of the workshop as well along the “stairs called 28 October”. The exhibition was attended by the EU Delegation representative from Brussels, representatives from the Ministry of labour and social welfare, CSO partners, media and interested people. On this occasion the media conference was organized to present the project so far and outline future plans. At the press conference there was a speech of Young Roma coordinator Mehmet Berisa, respectful representative of the Ministry of labor and social welfare as well as two representatives of beneficiaries. Around 100 visitors had the possibility to see the exhibition, buy produced handcrafts and get more information about the Dorra Nuova initiative.

The project ,, Roaming "is aimed at developing the capacity of Roma civil society organizations in the Western Balkans, with the goal of more efficient use of EU funds and acceptance of EU values and views, and all through the quality process initiatives and advocacy. Improving the capacity of Roma civil society organizations is essential to support those EU reforms included in the EU integration process and become controllers of the EU policies focused primarily at members of the Roma population.

Koalicija Zajedno za inkluziju Roma i Egipćana kroz transparentne i održive javne politike izražava snažan protest zbog etiketiranja Roma, posebno romske djece, kao kriminalne bande koje se bave razbojničkim aktivnostima, a kako se navodi u tekstu objavljenom u Dnevnim novinama i kasnije prenijetom na portalu RTCG i CDM.

Inicijativa za podsticanje upisa djece Roma i Egipćana u škole i fakultete

 

Koalicija Zajedno za inkluziju Roma i Egipćana kroz transparentne i održive javne politike uputila je danas inicijativu Ministarstvu za ljudska i manjinska prava, Ministarstvu prosvjete, Zavodu za udžbenike i nastavna sredstva, Fondu za manjine i  Romskom savjetu. Inicijativom su pomenute institucije pozvane da učine maksimum napora kako bi se dodatno doprinijelo većem upisu djece Roma i Egipćana u škole/fakultete.
