This meeting was hosted by the Government of Romania, the first presidency country of the Decade. The purpose of this meeting was to gather National Coordinators of the Decade, representatives of the international partner organizations, including the World Bank and the Open Society Foundations, as well as Roma activists, to discuss the vision on the future of the Decade as well as agree on a more detailed model of a new (Decade) Initiative.

This workshop was organised by Decade of Roma Secretariat, Government of Montenegro (Ministry for Human and Minority Rights) in cooperation with Young Roma in Podgorica on 30 - 31 January 2014. The event gathered about 70 representatives of governments (Decade Member and Observer States), Decade Focal Points and Montenegrin CSOs.

Prior to the conference to be held on 30 - 31 January - Discrimination against Roma: The Challenges of Anti-Gypsyism and Multiple Discrimination, NGO Young Roma contacted 10 Roma CSOs via E-mail, informing them of the upcoming event, followed by the invitation to attend the meeting in the premises of DFP to provide them with more details.
