Cooperation between NGO Young Roma and NGO MAPSS

The Executive Director of NGO Young Roma, Samir Jaha and president of NGO Montenegrin Association of Political Science Students (MAPSS) Mina Međedović, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between NGO Young Roma and NGO Montenegrin Association of Political Science Students on 26. December.
NGO Young Roma is organisation that seeks to support protection of social, economic and political rights of Roma in Montenegro through capacity building, with a particular emphasis on linking and encouraging young people in Roma community to take concrete actions and initiatives, while also training teenagers to develop individual skills for benefit of personal and collective progress.
Meeting with Ministry of Education

Representatives of NGO Young Roma met with representatives of the Ministry of Education on 18th December 2018 to discuss the mutual cooperation within the project "Increased Education Opportunities for Roma Students and Roma Youth in Western Balkans and Turkey". The meeting was held with Mr. Marash Dukaj, General Director of the Directorate for Education of Members of minority people and other national communities, at the premises of the Ministry.
“Transparency” board game – visit to Coalition members from Podgorica

Representatives of our organisation visited members of Coalition “United support for Roma inclusion in Montenegro” which are situated in Podgorica – Civic Alliance and CEDEM. Motive for the visit was presentation of the board game “Transparency”, which members of these organisations had the opportunity to play as a follow-up. Playing this game was a great opportunity for organisations’ members to discuss about transparency and accountability in their work, as well as about established procedures and mechanisms.
Round table ''ZaposliRo.me''

Representatives of our organisation participated at the round table “ZaposliRo.me”, organised on 6th December 2018 in Bijelo Polje. Round table “ZaposliRo.me” was the final event of the project implemented by non-governmental association “Klub kulture” from Bijelo Polje. This project aims to raise awareness of employees in municipality Bijelo Polje about the importance of the process of Roma integration for the whole community, as well about their own possibilities to contribute to that process. This project is supported through sub-granting scheme in the framework of the regional project “Joint Initiative to Empower Roma Civil Society in the Western Balkans and Turkey”, for which NGO Young Roma is the national partner from Montenegro.

Representatives of the NGO Youth Roma participated in a training organized by the Roma Education Fund from November 27 to 30 in Budapest. The training was aimed at networking of partner organizations that will participate in the implementation of the project “Increased Educational Opportunities for Roma Students and Roma Youth in Western Balkans and Turkey".
