Training on public relations and relevant aspects of public appearance in student activism program "VOICE TO STUDENTS"

The third training within the project „United we reach more- Voice to students, support to workers!” was held in Petrovac, hotel “Palas” from 23-25. november 2018. This training is part of student activism program "VOICE TO STUDENTS", and it is preceeded by two trainings on democracy and human rights, as well as political system of Montenegro and public policies.
The lecture and practical part of three-day training were conducted by trainers mr Radoje Cerović, psychologist and mr Bego Begu. Trainers prepared a program based on public appearance, as well as methods and techniques of it. The program covered three key aspects. First part of training was related to presentation skills, body language, effective use of voice, addressing the audience, while in second and third part, it was about adopting rules and techniques on writing press releases, as well as how to use social networks. Psychologist Cerović also spoke about hidden structure of interpersonal communication, verbal and nonverbal communication as a hidden structure, the synchronization of nonverbal elements and their influence on communication. The participants had the opportunity to hear about prejudices as a natural element of human communication, as well as stress and management. Then, what are the negative and traumatic experiences, chronic stress and their impact on communication. In addition to theoretical part, most participants seized the opportunity and actively participated in training by giving comments and asking questions.
Participants believe that their knowledge of topics that were presented at training, compared to period before their attendance, has improved significantly. They believe that acquired knowledge will be applied through improved communication skills, and that this will contribute to improving public appearance, which was one of the main goals of this training.
During next phase of project, through training on simulation of parliamentary debates, the education and improvement of inclusion of young Roma and students in shaping of political and public life of Montenegro, will continue, which is the purpose of this student activism program.
