Regional Coalition Meeting in Brussels

Regional Coalition meeting, held in period 25-28.09.2016. in Brussels, gathered representatives of organizations implementing the project,, Joint Initiative to empower Roma civil Society on the Western Balkans and Turkey. Jelena Topalović and Samir Jaha as representatives from Montenegro, and other colleagues from  Serbia, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Macedonia, Turkey attended this meeting, hosted by Project coordinator Roma Active Albania and ERGO Network from Brussels.

The aim of Regional Coalition Meeting was to present results of implemented activities and exchange experience and information with other organizations and more over to exchange approaches for overcoming the obstacles that could obstruct the work. Special emphasis during the presentation was given to establishment of National Coalitions, strengthening of its members, achievements and obstacles, as work of Coalition will be crucial for many project aspects, especially for fact finding and advocacy. After the presentation of successes so far, activities for ongoing period were planned. Discussion on the planning was led by RAA and ERGO representatives who explained in details forms in which shadow report and score cards should be done, in order to have the best possible result. Information, inputs and directions on how to carry out the activities were given, deadlines were specified and future meetings dates were discussed.

Meeting was closed with positive attitude towards the implementation of the project that is already contributing to the improvement of Roma position and raising awareness on importance of mainstreaming Roma issues both in national and local policies.
