MEETING WITH PARENTS ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF CONTINUING EDUCATION

On June 23, 2021, in Podgorica in the premises of the Elementary School Bozidar Vukovic Podgoricanin, the NGO Young Roma organized a meeting on the importance of education with the parents of students who finished the ninth grade this school year and who planned to enroll in one of the high schools.
This activity was realized through the project Improvement of primary education - the first step towards quality secondary education, which is supported by the Roma Education Fund.

The meeting of support for enrollment of students in high school was also attended by high school students Majda Maljesaj, Sebastijan Baftijari, Sadrija Krasnici and Merlinda Pajazitaj, who gave the present students and their parents more information about the enrollment procedure in the presented educational institutions, what are all the educational profiles of the school that these students attend future high school students can enroll. The coordinator of the project, Katarina Jocic, together with the mentors from this program in this school, spoke about the importance of education for the Roma community, and especially for young people, with special reference to the importance of high school education.
The project Improving Primary Education - the first step towards quality secondary education aimed to reduce early school leaving, improve student achievement and provide support for enrollment in secondary school. The project included students in the final grades (8th and 9th grade) in primary schools in Montenegro, and the project lasted from September 2019 to June 2021.
