Together for the inclusion of Roma and Egyptians trough transparent and sustainable public policies

NGO Young Roma, in January 2017 started with the implementation of the project "Together for the inclusion of Roma and Egyptians through transparent and sustainable public policies". Project is related to monitoring of policies aimed at the integration of Roma and Egyptians in the Montenegrin society as well as the monitoring of the budget allocation for the measures aimed to Roma and Egyptians integration.
The project is being implemented by the Coalition of organizations, consisting of Civic Alliance, NGO ,, Phiren Amenca ", Center for Democratic Transition, Center for Roma Initiatives and NGO Young Roma. The project is financially supported by the Open Society Foundation.
The overall goal of the project is sustainable integration of Roma and Egyptians in the Montenegrin society as well as the monitoring and improvement of socio-economic policies aimed at sustainable inclusion of Roma and Egyptians in the Montenegrin society.
Specific objectives are:
1) Measures for integration of Roma and Egyptians integrated into the framework of national policies;
2) Transparency of financial support at the national level within the framework of national policies;
Through the implementation of measures envisaged by the project, the project team will strive to contribute to the increase of budget allocations for programs for the Roma and Egyptian population, increase transparency, more efficient work of institutions and organizations, reducing the potential for misuse of funds, the inclusion of measures for integration of Roma in frame of national policies. Through monitoring of the budget and the sector of social protection, education, employment, housing, the project team will contribute to the mapping of the key obstacles that stand in the way of successful integration of Roma and Egyptians, but will also advocate for the adoption of approaches that will eliminate these barriers and contribute to the sustainable integration.
