Support in food and hygiene packages for 64 RE families in Bar Municipality

NGO Young Roma distributed 4 900 kilograms of aid, ie 100 packages of food of 17 kg per package, 100 packages of hygiene, 7 kg per package and 100 bags of flour, 25 kg each, to the Municipality of Bar.

3 300 EUR without VAT were spent to secure this aid, through the ROMACTED programme supported by the European Commission and the Council of Europe. The aid was distributed on the 30 March 2020, to the families living in the settlements: pod Volujicom, Sokolana, Bjelise, Stari Bar, Susanj, Sutomore, Lamela and Makedonsko.

     

Aid Distribution was carried out with the help of Red Cross volunteers and volunteers from the local Roma community together with Roma facilitator.

The ROMACTED programme is being implemented in the Western Balkan countries (Montenegro, Serbia, BiH, Kosovo, Albania, North Macedonia) and in Turkey in more than 60 municipalities with the aim of improving the position of Roma people at the local level. In Montenegro, this programme is implemented in eight municipalities: Berane, Bijelo Polje, Niksic, Podgorica, Herceg Novi, Tivat, Bar and Ulcinj. The partner of the program for Montenegro is the NGO Young Roma.
