Training for new facilitators and experts for ROMACTED

The ROMACTED team working in Montenegro has been expanded with additional facilitators, as well as with experts. New facilitators and experts were hired through a public call, which was announced in August last year by the Council of Europe. With the arrival of new facilitators, the ROMACTED program will be more actively implemented in all eight targeted municipalities (Berane, Bijelo Polje, Podgorica, Nikšić, Herceg Novi, Tivat, Bar and Ulcinj), which will work to empower the Roma community and co-operate with representatives of local institutions in the goal of promoting good governance.

When it comes to engaged experts, their task will be to:

  • Develop Local Action Plans for the inclusion of Roma and Egyptian (RE) populations together with the facilitators and members of the Institutional Working Groups , as well as plans for implementation / monitoring / verification of the plans
  • Make an analysis of available and missing services for social integration of Roma and Egyptians
  • Make a situational analysis in all 8 municipalities in a way to conduct 2 focus groups per municipality (in focus groups will be representatives of local Roma and Egyptian population)
  • Make an analysis of the existing funds for financing projects that may be accessed by municipalities, where they could apply with projects related to RE community members.

Given that it was necessary for new facilitators and experts to get acquainted with the ROMACTED program, a training on January 23, 2019 was organized with the aim of introducing the methodology, the reporting process and experiences in the previous period.
