Training for members of the Institutional Working Group in the Municipality of Bar

Representatives of the ROMACTED team held a training session on December 7 in Bar with representatives of the Working Group on the development of the Local Action Plan for the inclusion of the RE population. The attendees had the opportunity to hear more about the ROMACTED methodology as well as on the compliance of the Local Action Plan (LAP) with the current Strategy for the Inclusion of RE Population. The training was also presented with data on the position of RE population in the Bar Municipality from the field of employment, housing, education, social status and health. The data obtained were to a large extent different from those that Bar Municipality had, which will further assist in the development of LAP.

The participants also had the opportunity to get acquainted with the way in which the Local Action Plan itself was developed, as well as the way of proposing goals, measures and indicators that comprise LAP. The Bar Municipality has never had a Local Action Plan for inclusion of the RE population, and thanks to ROMACTED, for the first time, it has been working on its development. The local action plan will improve the position of the Roma community, but it will also affect the problems that the majority community also encounters.
