Aid packages for 70 Roma families in Bijelo Polje

NGO Young Roma, through ROMACTED programme implemented by Council of Europe and our organization, funded by European Commission and Council of Europe, on 3 and 4 November organized the action of distribution of aid packages for Roma community in Bijelo Polje.

Having in mind that the Roma community is mostly affected due to the pandemic of COVID-19 i.e. it affects their sources of income, on that occasion food packages of 35 kg per package, 70 hygiene packages of 10 kg per package, as well as 40 children's packages of 6 kg each, containing baby food, sweets and cosmetics, were delivered.
Distribution in settlements Strojtanica, Rakonje, Nedakusi i Ploce was disseminated with the help of our volunteers from NGO Romi sa sjevera and NGO Romski pokret.

On provision of 3.390 kg of food, hygiene products and children's packages 3,808.2 euros without VAT was spent.
During the first wave of the pandemic, through this Programme, the NGO Young Roma bought and installed a drinking water tank in the Nedakusi settlement, where living conditions continue to be inadequate.
The ROMACTED programme is funded by the Council of Europe and the European Union, while the NGO Young Roma is a partner organization in implementation. The Programme is implemented in seven countries of the Western Balkans and Turkey, in a total of 64 municipalities, in Montenegro this programme is implemented in 8 municipalities.
