Won a hundred medals - 80 gold, 11 silver, 9 bronze

Muhamed Berisa, finished the eighth grade at the elementary school "Braca Ribar" in Niksic

Successful athlete - that is how we could characterize the fourteen-year-old student of the elementary school "Braca Ribar" - Muhamed Berisa. But, despite the exceptional results in sporting, that would not be a good enough intro for Muhamed because, besides the combativeness on the mat and on the athletic track, he achieves good results in other fields of life as well.

Smiling and cheerful, Muhamed is a favourite in his friends' group, so from the suggestion of the students, he represents his class in the School Parliament. Muhamed is not only loved by his friends. He is also loved by teachers who recognize in him a hard-working and honest boy who wants to achieve good results in school as well. Together, and with the desire to help him, the teachers support and encourage him.

His dream is to enroll in the Police Academy in Danilovgrad. He knows that he has the ninth grade still ahead of him, and after that he will continue his education. Therefore, he will do his best to work even harder and justify the trust that everyone in the school has shown him. It is, as he tells us, a place where he feels comfortable and safe. He loves his friends and thinks that the end of primary school will not be the end of their friendship.

His sporting success is not only connected to judo. Muhamed has been training athletics since 2018. He has won gold, silver and bronze medals.

His favourite medals are - gold from the Balkan Championship in Greece (2018), bronze from the Balkan Championship in Macedonia (2019), as well as four gold medals won at the National Competition. He is happiest when his family, which is always there for him, can take pride in another medal. Muhamed won the last gold in October at the BORSA OPEN in Mostar, in the category of senior pioneers.

As he once stated, he most wants to "surpass" his father, who won two gold medals at the Balkan Championships, and to become a world champion in judo.

Judging by the results so far, Muhamed is not that far away from fulfilling his wish!

During this school year, this student was a beneficiary of the mentoring support that is realized within the project "Improving primary education - the first step towards quality secondary education", which is supported by the Roma Education Fund.
