‘Waste no chance! Enhancement of employability and labor rights of Roma waste collectors’ conference

NGO Young Roma has organized, in partnership with Union of Free Trade Unions of Montenegro, a conference for project ‘Waste no chance! Enhancement of employability and labor rights of Roma waste collectors’. The conference was held on Tuesday, 26th of September 2017 sat EU Info Center in Podgorica. The aim of conference was presentation of project itself.
Representative of the European Union in Montenegro, Romain Boitard took part in the conference, as well as the representatives of Free Trade Union of Montenegro, local authorities, ministries in charge, NGO’s and representatives of media.
Participants had chance to hear presentations and take part in discussions related to employment topic, protection at work and trade unionism of employees, as well as importance of collectors of second waste and waste management.

The project ‘Waste no chance! Enhancement of employability and labor rights of Roma waste collectors’ was supported by European Union funds through grant scheme Human Resources Development for 2012-2013 ( Implementation of training projects and employment of persons with disabilities and RE population ). Agreement of implementation was signed with Ministry of Finance – Directorate for financing and negotiating funds of EU help. Ministry of labor and social welfare is an institution in charge for monitoring of implementation of this project, as well as complete grant scheme.
