Seminar ,, Human rights and democracy“ successfully implemented

Seminar ,, Human rights and democracy” was organized by NGO Young Roma, in period 22-24.04.2016, at hotel ,, Queen of Montenegro”, Bečići. Seminar joined 25 Roma activists, and gave the opportunity to improve knowledge needed for active and efficient participation in community.
Participants that were attending seminar, from trainers Aiša Hadžibegović and Siniša Bjeković, had opportunity to learn more about human rights and democracy, principles of democracy, international and national legal frameworks and institution for human rights protection, with emphasis on rights of minorities, discrimination and procedures for protection from discrimination.
Areas in which trainees were mostly interested in, were human right advocacy, with emphasis on rights of minorities and ways of protecting from discrimination. Regarding these areas, examples of human rights and freedom violation were mentioned, with intention of presenting to trainees, through direct examples, how to recognize discrimination and human rights violation.
Mentioned seminar was organised through project ,, Strengthening capacities of Roma for public activism- United we reach more” implemented within support of Delegation of European Union to Montenegro, in partnership with Free Trade Union of Montenegro and Coalition Roma Circle.
