Monitoring visit to the Elementary school „Radomir Mitrović“ in municipality of Berane

On February 4th, 2021, project team of NGO Young Roma visited the Elementary school "Radomir Mitrović" in municipality of Berane. This is one in a series of monitoring visits to schools involved in the project "Improving primary education - first step towards quality secondary education", which is supported by the Roma Education Fund.

In the Elementary school "Radomir Mitrović", mentoring support activities are carried out for students from Roma population who attend the final grades. On this occasion, the meeting was attended by Mr. Radomir Jocic, school principal, Ms. Vesna Lutovac, assistant of school principal, as well as four teachers-mentors who are engaged in these activities with children.

The topic of our conversation was the school success of students after the end of the second classification period of this school year, the challenges that mentors and students face in their work, and further initiatives to improve their work. In this school, we have 18 student beneficiaries who are covered by this type of support.

This activity is part of the project "Improving primary education - first step towards quality secondary education", supported by the Roma Education Fund (REF).
