The conference "The right to adequate housing for Roma, and discrimination in the housing sector" successfully organized
The conference "The right to adequate housing for Roma, and discrimination in the housing sector", was held in Podgorica on 07.04.2017. in occasion of the celebration of the International Day of Roma, in cooperation of NGO Young Roma and the Institution of the Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms.
Promotion of the registration in first school grade for children of Roma and Egyptian population
Directorate of education of minorities and other ethnic communities in the Ministry of Education and the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights in this year also began with promotion of enrollment of Roma and Egyptian population in the first grade of primary school in Podgorica, Nikšić, Berane and Herceg Novi.
A working meeting organized by Roma Initiatives Office with civil society partners from the region
Representatives of the coalition "Together for the inclusion of Roma and Egyptian communities through transparent and sustainable public policy" attended the workshop which was organized by the Roma Initiatives Office in Vienna from 5th to 7th of April 2017. In addition to representatives from Montenegro, the meeting was attended by representatives of the civil sector of the country in which the aforementioned initiatives is being implemented. The reason for the meeting was to coordinate the activities of national representatives involved in the project implementation.
