Promotion of the registration in first school grade for children of Roma and Egyptian population

Directorate of education of minorities and other ethnic communities in the Ministry of Education and the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights in this year also began with promotion of enrollment of Roma and Egyptian population in the first grade of primary school in Podgorica, Nikšić, Berane and Herceg Novi.
On that occasion, the Advisor in the Directorate for Education of minority Rifat Ramčilović and Independent Advisor in the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights Sokolj Beganaj visited NGO Young Roma where presented the importance of education to the parents of future pupils. In the upcoming school year there will be six pupils from Roma community which will be enrolled in school system. Rifat Ramčilović pointed out that he is extremely pleased with the results that are achieved in Herceg Novi in this area and afterwards the NGO Young Roma in details presented its contribution to the education of Roma in Herceg Novi in the previous period. Sokolj Beganaj stressed the importance of education for the Roma community and promised that the ministry will continue to support this process.
We want to emphasis that in Herceg Novi, there is 100 students of Roma nationality in educational institutions. At the kindergarten there is 14 children, school is attended by 66 primary school pupils, high school is attended by 17 students and 3 university students of Roma nationality.
Today's meeting in the NGO Young Roma was an encourage for Roma parents to involve their children in the education system.
