Third meeting of the network members within the project "Unifying the Voices for Ending Violence Against Women"
The third, final meeting of the network members within the project "Unifying the Voices for Ending Violence against Women" was held on 25th April 2019. in Podgorica. Besides representatives of NGO Young Roma, the meeting was attended by representatives of organizations: Montenegrin Women's Lobby, Center for Roma Initiatives, Women’s RE Netwok „First“, Mladiinfo Montenegro and Culture Club.
Also, the meeting was attended by the expert in charge of writing the national report on the application of the Istanbul and CEDAW conventions in Montenegro.
At the meeting, we talked about the reports of organizations which collected data on application of Conventions mentioned, commented on them, and clarification of possible uncertainties. Also, organizations presented their work flow, as well as the issues some of them faced during field work.
Second regional meeting held in the framework of the project "Unifying the voices for Ending Violence against Women"
Representatives of NGO Young Roma attended the Second Regional meeting within the project "Unifying the voices for Ending Violence against Women", held in Belgrade from 15-16 April 2019. Apart from our organization, the meeting was also attended by representatives of other organizations that are part of the project: Roma Women's Center Bibija from Serbia, NGO Luludi from North Macedonia and NGO Otaharin from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
International Roma Day- simulation of parliamentary debate in Parliament of Montenegro
On the occasion of International Roma Day, a parliamentary debate was organized in the Parliament of Montenegro on 8th April, within the project "United we reach more- Voice to students, support to workers". Participants of the student activism program "Voice to students" conducted the parliamentary debate.
Considering that markingInternational Roma Day could be an opportunity to raise awareness about necessary improvement of the position of Roma population in Montenegro, speakers at introductory panel were representatives of relevant national institutions and international organizations.
