Learning support to secondary school Roma students

This project includes first grade high school students, in all municipalities where there are Roma students - 20 schools in 12 municipalities in Montenegro.
Aims of the project are:
- Providing stronger support to students to reduce drop-out
- Improve regular attendance and improve knowledge and school success
- Better connection with students of the majority population
It is planned to achieve these aims through the following activities
- The mentoring support program is implemented for 75 first grade students with the support of 36 mentors, ie. teachers / psychologists, pedagogues to students who monitor their work paying attention on specific needs of students in order to improve the regularity of attendance and increase motivation to continue schooling through weekly individual sessions)
- Workshops in schools where trainers / lecturers will talk to Roma and students from the majority population about peer violence, reproductive health, strengthening self-confidence
- Peer to peer support is organized for the first time and the goal is socialization, better interaction of Roma and students from the majority community. It is planned that high school students from the majority will volunteer to help Roma and Egyptian students learn and master the material
- The mentioned project Learning support to secondary school Roma students started on November 1 and will last until the end of June 2021, and is supported by the UNICEF office in Montenegro.
The total project budget is 22,948 euros, and more than 50% of the amount is predicted for mentoring.
