Member of the editorial board of the journal "Media Dialogues", Natasa Ruzic, congratulated 8 April - International Roma Day, and said that this award is a great recognition. "This award means a lot because it is a kind of sign and proof that we are on the right track, and we will try to be even better", said Ruzic.

President of the Commission for the best investigative report published in the media, Zoran Boskovic, said that a small number of media applied to their call.

He said that the Media Dialogues reaffirmed its scientific referentiality and reputation they enjoy in Southeast Europe.

"This volume will remains to testify good and rare example of social responsibility, professionalism and academic approach to the treatment of problematic issues of inclusion of the Roma population as the original, democratic and civilizational issue", said Boskovic.

According to him, every day is an opportunity and obligation for improving living and working conditions of the Roma population.

Ambassador of the United States of America (USA) in Montenegro, Margaret Ann Uehara said that Roma are daily faced with discrimination including, as she explained, lack of access to education, access to higher employment levels and very limited access to health care. 

"The US Embassy is dedicated to furthering the rights of Roma in Montenegro every day, not just on the occasion of Roma", pointed Uehara.

She added that the US Embassy supportes the program of the Center for Roma initiatives in order to prevent the forced and early marriages.

Uehara reminded the public on planned projects which will contribute to the inclusion of the Roma, adding that the USA has developed educational and cultural programs that enhance leadership potential of young Roma.

"It is crucial that citizens work together to solve the most pressing problems faced by Roma," concluded Uehara.
