ROMACTED team members participated in the Community Action Group (CAG) meeting which was organized on June 19, 2020, in Ulcinj. The meeting was organized by the Municipality of Ulcinj facilitators, Marko Junkovic and Almir Beganaj. In order to ensure greater involvement of community members in improving the Roma integration process, as part of the ROMACTED programme, CAG groups have been established which work within the local Roma communities. The members of the group are representatives of the Roma population who want to actively contribute to improving the quality of life of the RE population.

The situation in the Roma community after the end of the first wave of the COVID 19 epidemic was discussed at the meeting, and members of the local action group also discussed plans for the future as well as problems that need to be addressed in order to improve community status in this municipality. Therefore, the key goal of the CAG in this program is to improve the well-being of the whole community, not just its members, and on the other hand, local authorities must recognize the CAG as a partner.

Programme ROMACTED - Promoting good governance and Roma empowerment at the local level is created to build the political will and sustainable policy of local government participation, increase local governance, build capacity and encourage the empowerment of local Roma communities to contribute to the design, implementation and monitoring plans and projects concerning them. The ROMACTED programme is funded by the Council of Europe and the European Union, while the NGO Young Roma is a partner organization in implementation. The Programme is implemented in seven countries of the Western Balkans and Turkey, in a total of 64 municipalities.
