At the initiative of the Young Roma organization, a meeting was organized with the school principal Mustafa Peročović. The meeting was also attended by the representative of the Municipality of Bar, Naser Kraja, who is also the contact person of the Roamcted program for Bar. A member of the Roma community from Bar, Vasvija Tuša, also took part.
Our organization previously sent a letter to the Ministry of Education requesting consent for the engagement of a Roma associate in social inclusion in the field of education.
As we received a positive response from the Ministry, and in order to start the engagement of the education associate in the mentioned school as soon as possible, a meeting was organized where we talked about the following topics:
• The school principal also sent a request for the engagement of associates and the Ministry of Education made recommendations on the regulations that need to be met in order for the engagement of Associates to be possible.
• According to available data, there are more than 70 Roma students in the municipality of Bar, which is one of the conditions for hiring associates in education,
• There are two persons from Bar who are Roma, who have completed training and a have the required license so they can work as mediators in education
• We visited an office space that a Roma associate could use for his work at the school, which needs to be equipped with office and technical equipment.
It was concluded that the engagement of an associate in education will be enabled as soon as possible, and that the NGO Young Roma will provide funds for equipping the premises to provide conditions for quality work of the mediator in education.
