Visit and info session in secondary schools in Nikšić

On February 6th 2020 representatives of NGO Young Roma have visited high schools in Niksic that are included in the mentoring program and other activities anticipated by the project "Increasing access and participation of Roma students in secondary education and transition to labor market".
We visited following schools:
- The first vocational high school, in which classes attend 10 students of the Roma population;
- Vocational high school, in which one student attends classes;
- Secondary school of economics and catering, in which 10 students attend classes
The aim of our visit was to get to know each other, to talk about the flow of the activities, opportunities to improve our work, to inform students about the possibility of summer internships and to organize training courses for students in final grades, which will cover the topics of transition from the school system into the labor market system.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of NGO Young Roma, mentors from the above listed three schools and students.
Samir Jaha, Executive Director of the Young Roma organization, expressed his gratitude to everyone for attending, presented last year's results and further activities, and invited mentors and students to talk about their actions so far, the problems they face, etc.
Katarina Jočić, Project Coordinator, announced to the students training which is planned for them in April, as well as paid internship that will be realized during the summer months.
After that, each mentor briefly presented their work with the student within the previous engagement and gave a comment about their students.
Finally, the students have talked about themselves and their intentions of further education or employment.
This activity was implemented within the project "Increasing access and participation of Roma students in secondary education and transition to labor market", funded by the European Union, and implemented through the Roma Education Fund.
