NGO Young Roma signed the Contract on co-financing of the project "United we reach more- Voice to students, support to workers"

Samir Jaha, Executive Director of NGO Young Roma , today signed the Contract on co-financing of the project "United we reach more- Voice to students, support to workers", which is funded by the European Union, in the premises of the Ministry of Public Administration.

The project is being implemented jointly with the Union of Free Trade Unions of Montenegro. The implementation of the project started on May 1, 2018, and will last until December 31, 2019. The project's objective is to strengthen the public activism of Roma and members of the majority population in Montenegro, providing beneficiaries with education and guidelines on public activism in practice, active political participation and influence on the decision making process. At the same time, the project will strengthen the union engagement of Roma and members of the majority population through the continuation of the establishment of institutionalized mechanisms and sustainable solutions for better protection of labor, economic and social rights of the most vulnerable groups of workers - those working on maintainance of city cleanliness, which are mainly members of the Roma minority.

The project of NGO Young Roma is one of selected projects by the Ministry of Public Administration for co-financing, in the amount of EUR 3,176.36. The contract was concluded on the basis of the Decision on the allocation of resources for co-financing of NGO projects and programs supported by the European Union funds, which followed after the announcement of the Public Call for the allocation of resources for co-financing of projects and programs of non-governmental organizations supported by the European Union funds for 2019, which was published on 18th March, 2019.
