Meeting of the coalition ''United support for Roma inclusion in Montenegro'' organized in Podgorica

Meeting of the coalition ''United support for Roma inclusion in Montenegro'' was held on 20th September 2018 in Podgorica. Meeting was an opportunity to present activities within the project ''Joint Initiative to Empower Roma Civil Society in the Western Balkans and Turkey'', as well as to present current activities and results within two sub-granted projects: ''ZaposliRo.me'' of NGA ''Klub kulture'' from Bijelo Polje and ''Support for legalization of informal objects'' of Roma youth organisation ''Phiren Amenca – walk with us'' from Podgorica.
Organizations members of the Coalition (currently 16 of them) presented their activities concerning projects related to inclusion of Roma and Egyptian community and discussed their participation at important upcoming events on national level – Quarterly meeting of the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights and conference “Quality education through cooperation”. For that matter, one of the topics of the meeting was education of Roma children, and special emphasis was put on mediators for RE inclusion in education. Participants had the chance to exchange information about number of Roma children in primary and high schools, number of students, number of employed mediators, allocation of free books, payment of scholarships for high school and university students, as well as about other matters of particular interests related to education of children and students from Roma and Egyptian community.
