Organised national meeting of the Coalition Together for the Inclusion of Roma and Egyptians

Members of Coalition Together for the Inclusion of Roma and Egyptians in Montenegro attended a national meeting of the Coalition organized by the NGO Youth Roma as part of the project Joint initiative to Empower Roma Civil Seciety on the Western Balkans and Turkey. In addition to the members of the Coalition, the meeting was attended by representatives of Ministries, local self-governments, centers for social work, international organizations, media. The meeting was held on July 3, 2017. in the Hotel Center Ville in Podgorica.

The meeting was organized with the aim to to exchange information about work of Coalition with the attendees, and to raise issues of importance, to the representatives of institutions. In addition, the meeting was an opportunity to prepare recommendations that will be presented at the National Platform, organized in cooperation between the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Regional Cooperation Council, on 05.07.2017.

In the first part of the meeting, the Roma Youth Organization "Walk With Us - Phiren Amenca" presented a study titled "Monitoring the Position of Roma in Podgorica through Case Studies", which was developed as part of the project "Monitoring Roma Integration in Podgorica (MIRuPG)", supported through a program of small grants by the NGO Youth Roma, as well as a short documentary related to child begging. The second part of the meeting was used to prepare recommendations that will be presented on the National platform, and related to education, employment, housing, social protection.
