Organised kick off meeting of the project ,,Joint initiative to empower Roma civil society on the Western Balkans and in Turkey"

A representative of the NGO Young Roma, Jaha Samir in a period of 2-6. April 2016 participated in the kick off meeting of the project ,,Joint initiative to empower Roma civil society on the Western Balkans and Turkey. " The meeting was held in Brussels. Organizers of the meeting organization Roma Active Albania and ERGO network from Brussels.

Participants of the meeting had the opportunity to introduce themselves furthermore with the activities that will be implemented in each of the partner countries, to exchange experiences and information on the national context of Roma integration, and in relation to the conclusions from the meeting, to align activities at the regional level. It was concluded that through networking and strengthening the capacity of Roma civil society in the Western Balkans and Turkey the professionalism, legitimacy and accountability of (pro) Roma NGOs will be strengthened and will improve the long-term strategic organizational planning with the aim of establishing a constructive and systematic dialogue with the government which is one of the goals mentioned project.


The aforementioned project is supported by the European Commission through the IPA Civil Society and Media 2014 - 2015, and implemented by Roma Active Albania (project coordinator), ERGO network (Belgium), OTAHARIN (Bosnia and Herzegovina), NGO Young Roma (Montenegro) , RROMA (Macedonia), the Organization of Roma students (Serbia) and zero tolerance (Turkey).
