MEETING WITH NGO REPRESENTATIVES WHO ARE DEDICATED TO ACTIVITIES FOR IMPROVEMENT OF POSITION OF RE COMMUNITY IN MONTENEGRO

ON Monday 04.07.2016. at premises of Congress center of Hotel Best Western Premier, informative meeting was held. Meeting was organized by NGO Young Roma and gathered representatives of NGOs that are working on improvement of social position of RE population in Montenegro. Meeting was organized as part of a project ,, Joint Initiative to Empower Roma Civil Society on the Western Balkans and Turkey” funded by the European Union.

Coordinator of mentioned project is organization Roma Active Albania, and NGO Young Roma is project partner.

At the meeting mentioned project was briefly presented. Organizations were informed on possibility of applying for small grants , and conditions that are obligatory to fulfill in order to receive grant were presented. Also NGO Young Roma gave information that interested organizations will be visited and on that occasion will closely discuss the project and expected outcomes.

Meeting was opportunity for determining key recommendations that will be presented at Seminar ,, Form words to deeds- Towards the Integration of Roma”. Taking in considerations that meeting was attended by organizations who have extensive experience in implementation of project for improvement of RE position, this meeting had high level of productivity and resulted with important conclusions regarding housing, health and social protection, employment, legal status and personal documentation. Recommendations were listed for all of mentioned areas and will be presented at upcoming Seminar.
