Realized training "Roaming - Capacity building of Roma organizations for writing EU projects and building partnerships"

In Bar, in the period from 19th to 26th March 2017. the training was organized for participants from six countries in the framework of the project "Roaming" supported through ERASMUS + program, aimed at developing the capacity of Roma civil society organizations in the Western Balkans, with the goal to efficient usage of EU funds and acceptance of EU values ​​and views, and all this through the quality initiatives and advocacy actions.

Improving the capacity of Roma civil sector is recognized as essential to support EU reforms included in the EU integration process so for them to become controllers of EU policies aimed primarily at members of the Roma population.

The project leading organization is Young Roma from Montenegro while the partners in the project are Out of the Box International from Brussels, Disutni Albania, Romaversitas Macedonia, Association of Roma Coordinators from Serbia, Advancing Together Kosovo, Young Roma Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The training focused on acquiring knowledge and skills needed for project management, financial management and application procedures, priorities, establishing and developing partnerships, solving national problems with the help of EU funds, but also gaining knowledge about other available funds, and mechanisms such as Erasmus +, IPA and the EIDHR.

Continuation of the project will include the implementation of the internship program for six representatives of Roma organizations in Brussels, organizing laboratories for European-Roma initiatives in six countries, the final conference and the creation of guides on strategies, funds and possible ways of lobbying Roma civil sector as well as the advice of young Roma for improving the process of inclusion Roma in the Western Balkans by the Roma civil sector.
