NGO Young Roma representatives attended International event in Tirana

Representatives of NGO Young Roma Samir Jaha and JelenaTopalović attended the International event ,,The Integration of Roma Community and strengthening cooperation between Countries in the Region“. Event was organized by Amaro-Drom Union, in Tirana on 18th of October 2016.
Aim of this event was to reinforce stakeholders' commitment for Roma integration and increase the cooperation between countries in the region, as regard to the improvement of Roma living conditions. NGO Young Roma team presented country situation and also initiatives that organization has taken in order to improve living conditions of Roma in Montenegro. Problems connected with personal documentation, housing, education, employment were presented and also explained the approach that our team is using to tackle these problems, and which also sees as most suitable. Besides Montenegro, representatives from the Bosnia and Hercegovina, Kosovo, Serbia, Albania and Turkey who presented Roma’s situation in the related countries, participated at this event. In addition to country situation presentation, this event was great opportunity to exchange views, ideas, examples from practice with others who are experienced in the field of Roma inclusion in their countries. Important recommendations were carried out in order to apply positive approaches that will tackle Roma exclusion in best possible way.
This activity was organized in frame of the project „ Sustainable Improvement of the livelihood of Roma Community in Albania’’ which is funded by the We effect (Swedish Cooperative Centre).
