Workshop on youth activism with Wendy Lesko

As a part of Embassy Speaker programme, workshop on Roma Youth Activism was held in American corner in Podgorica on Wednesday, 28th of September. Wendy Lesko, expert in this field, talked about engagement of young people in political and public life and shared her experience from America with activists that work with youth and motivate them to be active members of our society.

Young Roma activist from Montenegro took active part in this workshop and discussed about problems that Roma community is facing, especially in the field of education and employment. They came to a conclusion that even though it’s a leader in the region when it comes to the strategic documents targeting Roma, Montenegro is not so successful in their implementation.

Ms Lesko was pleasantly surprised with the results achieved by Montenegrin Roma NGOs in the field of youth activism and shared her knowledge on different methods young activists should use in order to improve their work in this field.
