As part of the project ,, Strengthening capacities of Roma for public activism-United we reach more!” NGO Young Roma  together with representative of project partner Free Trade Unions, organized founding assembly of free trade union of employees at company ,, Cistoca”, on 14.04.2016. at Herceg Novi. This activity is implemented  in order to support Trade unionization among Roma people, and overall public activism of Roma people in Montenegrin society.

 On the founding assembly of Free Trade Union of employees at city cleanliness , legal conditions for transparency were fulfilled, rules of organization, management and board members were  chosen. As next part of meeting, discussion about problems that workers have, an on whose resolving project team will work , was organized.

We strongly believe that forming of this Trade Union of workers in city cleanliness , that is the unique one in Montenegro, will be beginning of their organizing in other municipalities in Montenegro. For Roma people, that are in Montenegro employed in this field, and they are mayor part of employees at city cleanliness companies- Trade unionization is basic mechanism for protection of labor rights and legal guarantees.  Having in mind all of these reasons, activities of NGO Young Roma, after assistance in trade unionization  in other municipalities in Montenegro , assistance will also be provided for raising their capacities through trainings for trade activists , and support for resolving problems , that could affect organized Trade in the future.

Mentioned activities were organised through project ,, Strengthening capacities of Roma for public activism- United we reach more” implemented within support of Delegation of European Union to Montenegro, in partnership with Free Trade Union of Montenegro and Coalition Roma Circle.
