Organised seminar ,, Strengthening capacities and political activism of Roma people in Montenegro”

As part of the project that is supporting activism of Roma people in area of politics, seminar ,, Strengthening capacities and political activism of Roma people“ was organised in period 26-29.05.2016. and it was based on topics such as base of political activism, goals and directions for further development i strengthening of public activism of Roma people in Montenegro. Seminar was conducted by dr Veselin Pavićević, professor at Faculty of political science in Podgorica, and dr Miloš Bešić, professor at Faculty of political science in Belgrade.

 

Seminar was great opportunity for discussion about political position of Roma people in Montenegro, prior problems that Roma community is facing with, and also ways of resolving problems, political system of Montenegro, its actors and ways of its functioning, ideological profiles of political parties in Montenegro, and ways on which human rights and freedoms can be protected through activities of political parties.

Furthermore, seminar was opportunity for discussion about process of creating public politics, methods and techniques for creating politics in area of inclusion of Roma people on national and local level. Trainees used presented techniques and methods to define certain problems that are affecting Roma community and harming the process of integration, and also presented their work at Seminar. Approach of including trainees in each segment of Seminar, that trainers used, contributed to successfull  implementation.

 

Mentioned seminar was organised through project ,, Strengthening capacities of Roma for public activism- United we reach more” implemented within support of Delegation of European Union to Montenegro, in partnership with Free Trade Union of Montenegro and Coalition Roma Circle.
