Quarter meeting of Ministry for Human and Minority Rights and NGO sector

In the ordinary course of activities planned for the third quarter of this year, Ministry of Human and Minority Rights held a meeting today (16.09.2014) with representatives of NGOs dealing with the protection and promotion of minority rights.

Representatives of following organizations took participation: Forum of Bosniaks, Women's RAE Network "The first", Muslims' NUT, Coalition "Roma and Egyptians together," Juventas, Coalition "Roma Circle," CEDEM, NGO Young Roma and Civic Alliance.

On behalf of the Acting Director General of the Directorate for the Protection of Minority Rights and Freedoms, Leon Gjokaj introduced present delegates with the previous results and plans for future cooperation, noting that so-far cooperation is at excellent level.

Representatives of non-governmental organizations agreed that the meeting was very constructive. They provided suggestions for better operation of the Fund for Minorities, national councils and said that cooperation between the national authorities and NGOs is becoming better and more intense when it comes to the protection and promotion of the rights and freedoms of minorities and other ethnic groups in Montenegro.
