NGO Young Roma provided new textbooks and bus tickets for Roma high school students

NGO Young Roma has, on request of Roma-Egyptian students, provided new textbooks for 62 Roma high school students all over Montenegro.

They will return the books to the school library after the end of the school year, from where the next generations of students can take them and use.
The donation is provided through the project Increasing access and participation of Roma students in secondary education and transition to labour market, funded by Roma education Fund and European Union.
From this organisation it is pointed out that in the past weeks, monthly bus tickets for the next three months (March, April, May) were provided for 60 Roma high school students through the same project.

From the anonymous donor for 75 secondary school Roma students in the first grade school material has arrived.
Textbooks, school material and bus tickets are a necessity and a base for the further progress of Roma children.
In education programs that this organisation is implementing, 150 Roma high school students are included and are followed by 48 mentors. Those mentors are teachers, psychologists, pedagogues which are giving them support, working on increasing their motivation for further education, following their work, taking care about specific needs of a student.
NGO Young Roma for three years in a row has been implementing mentoring support program for all Roma students in Montenegro.
With Roma Education Fund and EU this program is being conducted for three years and from this school year, support is secured from UNICEF’s office in Montenegro too.
