Quarter meeting with NGO sector

Today, Ministry for Human and Minority Rights held a meeting with representatives of fifteen NGOs dealing with the protection and promotion of minority rights. One of the regular activities of the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights is a cooperation with non-governmental sector, exchange of opinions and suggestions regarding the promotion and protection of human and minority rights.

Representatives of the following organizations attended the meeting:Centre for Liberal Studies, Croatian Civil Society, Muslim Civil Forum, Network For Education and Development Support Services, Humanitarian from Niksic, Muslims’ Nut, UNO Libertask, Institute Alternative, Civic Alliance, Young Roma from Herceg Novi, 4Life, Roma Circle from Niksic, Centre for Civic Education, Forum Of Bosniaks, Juventas. 

Director General for the protection of minority rights and freedoms, Gjokaj Leon welcomed the participants on behalf of the Ministry and thanked them for coming in such numbers. Fikret Ljuljanović as person in charge of cooperation with NGOs, informed the participants about the implemented activities of the Ministry in the field of protection and promotion of minority rights.

NGO representatives stated that the cooperation with the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights is successful and assessed today's meeting as very constructive. The meeting discussion points were the Law on Amendments to the Law on Minority Rights and Freedoms, education officer for minority population, employment and preservation of the cultural heritage of minority peoples in Montenegro, and improving information of minorities in their own language.

Participants exchanged opinions on the most important issues in the interactive dialogue and gave suggestions for the continuation of further cooperation.
